So I went upstairs and pulled all (well, not all exactly, but most) of my WIP's. I think there were a total of 29 of them, but I tried not to count and then dwell....Today's drawing is "Spring Snapperland" by Bent Creek. I'll work on this until Friday, and will then do whatever the h-e-double-toothpicks I want over the weekend. If, by some chance, I actually manage to finish this piece before Friday, I'll pull another WIP.
I think I managed to do this rotation a total of two weeks last year, but those two weeks were remarkably satisfying. I like the idea of getting something done for a change, and God knows my WIP basket could use a good culling. (Is that a word? Hmmm. Must. Get. Dictionary.)
To make life a little more interesting, I also included two "WILDCARD" tags into the Spinster Stitcher Rotation Drawing Box. I figure that if I pull one of these it will feel like a free week of doing whatever I want, and we all know how much we need free weeks of doing whatever I want. Kind of a stitchy vacation, eh?!
Culling: to choose; select; pick; To remove rejected members or parts from; remove something that has been rejected. No need to buy a dictionary! Also, thank you for having more WIPs than me. Here's to even more next year!

ReplyDeleteI have never tried a rotation system. I'm kind of afraid to count my WIP's. I think ignorance is bliss in my case. I can't get my head wrapped around the whole concept that one is supposed to finish what one starts!
ReplyDeleteRotations have not worked for me before, but I like the idea of having a "weekly drawing". That might add a little excitement to the whole thing!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the rotation. I'm not yet brave enough to try it but I need to do something seeing that my WIPS are piling up.Oh by the way may I suggest that you put in some chocolate it the "weekly drawing" bag. That way you could just have to sit back and enjoy a little treat!! LOl

Rotation sounds like a good idea. Maybe I need to learn how to do that. I start like two things then get stuck on one and can't bring myself to leave that one piece. By the way I love Bent Creek. I am currently working on their new piece called Snapperbets. Good luck!
