SUNDAY....

After a lovely few hours at a new to me salon getting my hair cut and toes fixed, I came home, ate dinner, and then sat down with stitching and Mary Tyler Moore.

The little red case holding my goodies in the picture above is actually a case for holding masks! It's neoprene, has a hard shell feel, and perfectly holds everything I need for a project. They are readily available on the amazons in many colors.

My hair and I are not on speaking terms at the moment, and I confess to having a pretty good meltdown about it last night. It's short and not at all me, but I know this is temporary and will be much easier to manage. So I gave myself a good five minutes to bawl it all out in the shower and have moved on.

Here it is before and after:

My toes, however, are a different story:

For a girl who can't see or reach her feet, I sure do obsess over them a lot!

So that's my story for yesterday, Dearies. I am now cuddled up in my fuzzy blankets with an afternoon cup of damn good, a big vat of ice water with lemon, and I'm going to stitch the rest of the day away!

Happy Sunday!

  1. Great toes! And great hair too. Although I also like your usual curliness.
I assume maintaining the new do would require straighteners and other tools? My hair has a strong “I’ll do what I want to” vibe, with an occasional “surprise” situation. Like when I went a year between cuts due to poor timing and Covid lockdowns, and ended up with a curly ponytail, instead of my usual basic pixie cut.

  2. I love the new style! It really looks great!! I have mine short and know it would probably look better longer but I have never liked to fool with it do short it stays!

  3. I have followed (stalked?) your blog for years and years and years and have commented MAYBE 1 time. Why your hair causes me to comment--I just dunno. I always wore my hair short and decided I wanted to grow it long, and at the same time let it go gray. It was the best thing I ever did! My hair has some natural wave and I never lived with the "bob" very long because my hair looked like a bell. When I started with the growing out/growing long process, my hairdresser said to use a straightening iron. Four little words (and luckily great white hair inherited from my mother) and life is carefree!! I get compliments from strangers all the time. So go for it Coni. Buy a $15 straightening iron from Dollar General and you'll be bouncing off rainbows and moon beams!!!!

  4. Ooo- those waves in your hair are beautiful! I never understood wanting to iron hair flat, but if it makes someone happy, that's all that counts

  5. Love your toes. I’ve been there when a hair appt doesn’t turn into what you want. Once my hair was literally falling out. Thankfully it grew longer by the time I was to get married. It won’t take long to get your hair back where you want it to be for sure. I do love the curl you have going on and I really think you look good in both photos.

  6. I let my hair go gray over 5 years ago. Best decision ever! Everytime I go out people comment on how pretty the color is and now it's starting to turn white. If you don't want to stand in front of the mirror to blow dry your hair, throw a little mousse in your hand and move it through your hair. It will dry with some loose curl and look fine. Easy and most of it will be getting used to it. At our age, easy is BEST!

  10. Coni, I think both the hair and toes look good. Now that being said, do your thing with your hair. I keep mine short because I can't be bothered with a blow dryer or curling iron. Happy Monday!
