HEAVEN HELP ME
Taking Magoo for his second Covid shot in a few minutes. He is so phobic of all things medical...especially needles! Oh, how I wish I could take it for him, but alas, my turn is Saturday.
Doesn't JB remember he survived the first shot and sprinted back? Anyway, this is the final trial of the needle and he will probably be rewarded with one of your fabulous offerings of cuisine... Peace.
My husband and I met a man who was so phobic he actually almost fainted when it came time to draw his blood for routine blood work. He knew before he hated needles, but he didn't know it was that bad. I was almost laughing yet I felt so badly for him. Then he almost vomited. Then I didn't laugh. He was pale and shakey by this point. He was trying to laugh at himself. We just told him we all have weaknesses and that he shouldn't feel embarrassed. No one chooses his/her weak points, right?
I hate needles myself. My first shot left me with only a mildly sore arm for a couple of days. The second one left me with an arm I couldn't use for three whole days. I say this NOT to scare anyone, but to encourage someone that THIS GOES AWAY! I was fortunate not to have any other reaction. It's different for every person, it seems.
Hope JB's shot goes smoothly!
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed that it will be totally painless for him (and you!). Looking forward to getting my second one soon.
ReplyDeleteI understand how he feels, I embarrass myself I am so ridiculous with the simplest prodedure. I get my first one next week.

I love how you take care of him and appreciate his foibles!

ReplyDeleteI know where he's coming from, I'm not looking forward to it either. Luckily it'll be awhile before I get mine. Take care!
