Today's post treatment weight: 113.9kg
IU transplant weight: 112kg *
Like the rest of the universe, I'm afraid that the whole virus thing gave me an excuse to lose focus. I don't know why, exactly, since my life has not changed one little bit (with the exception of wearing a mask), so I have no excuse.
But I am nipping this little backslide in the bud before it gets too far out of control.
So back to reporting my progress to you on Friday afternoons, Dearies. Don't you feel good that you have the ability to keep me accountable? You would think getting a kidney would be reason enough to stop shoving food into my big fat face, but nope...I don't want to disappoint my Dearies!
Back to watching it!
* Yes, I am over the weight limit, but will not be removed from the list as long as I get this moving in the right direction.
Whew! Hydrate and salads! You got this Coni!
ReplyDeleteHey, waiting for a kidney is no walk in the park. Having to lose weight on top of all that just seems like a cruel trick fate is playing on you.
ReplyDeleteWe are here for you Coni!!!!!
I learned a few days ago that every time you eat or drink something that tastes sweet, even if it has zero calories, your body thinks that sugar is coming, so your insulin spikes. From just the sweet taste!!! When there's no sugar for it to deal with, it says, "Huh. I got cheated. INSERT SUGAR NAO!!!" Thus the cravings, and it's somehow connected to insulin resistance, so it makes losing weight harder.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure it's more complicated than that, but I stopped putting Splenda in my tea, and I seriously have not craved sweets since I did that. The information I have is that there's a book called The Obesity Code that explains it much better than I possibly could. :-)))
Coni, you have to look at the light at the end of the tunnel. Just think what a wonderful life you will have with a new kidney. Anxiety also is fighting you in this battle.
ReplyDeleteYou did it before and can do it again!
ReplyDeleteKeeping weight down is such a struggle, even in the best of times--and obviously these are not the best of times by any stretch of the imagination. If telling your blog friends helps in any way, we are here for you!
ReplyDeleteWhatever works and helps you. You know you can do this!
ReplyDeleteIt's doable! Very doable - you can do this Coni. You've shed loads already, so a measly little amount can be swatted away. 10 laps chez Coni morning noon and night for the next week. LOL! xxx
ReplyDeleteBummer on the weight, but at least you found out sooner than later. I have every confidence that you can get back on track.
ReplyDeleteConi, you can do it! Look how far you have come, so climb back on the wagon because we are here cheering you on. Go Coni!
ReplyDeleteA big Atta Girl. Not far to go! Git it on!
ReplyDeleteRooting for you,Coni...start shedding the avoir du pois little by little and hold it...save one day for letting go of
ReplyDeletethe reins for a "small" treat and then onward back on track.
