I feel like I am moving my q-snaps on Plum Pudding over and over, day after day.
Thus, the obscure reference.
Sorry to confuse, Dearies, but out if curiosity, did ANYBODY know what I meant, or did I dream the whole Dunkin Donuts guy?
(It wouldn't be the first time...that's for sure!)
no confusion here - it's not a dream. lol - Love your plum pudding! keep going on it!
ReplyDeleteNot a dream! I remember the Dunkin' Donuts man. It was long before they came out with "America runs on Dunkin".
ReplyDeleteGetting to do the same thing over and over again....got it!
ReplyDeleteTalk about warp speed...
Do you have a bunch of teenagers reading this blog, Coni? Who doesn't remember the DD guy?
ReplyDeleteGiggle...thanks for the compliment, nicest thing anyone's said n a long time! <3
DeleteI do remember the DD guy and his funny phrase but my tired old brain did not connect those dots.
ReplyDeleteGood one Coni!!
Oh yes, I remember the DD guy! And I feel like him more often than not. LOL!
ReplyDeleteI remember the commercials and got it right away!!! Love your progress on plum pudding, I have it in my stash and you are inspiring me to get it into my stitching bag.
ReplyDeleteGot it!!
ReplyDeletePlum pudding is looking great!
I got it right away. No explanation was necessary for me! Happy Stitching!
ReplyDeleteWell, now I just feel old. I totally got it right away.
ReplyDeleteHubby and I love the donut man! Your progress is phenomenal!
ReplyDeleteYou are absolutely right! I often find myself quoting old tag lines from obscure commercials. You go, girl.
ReplyDeleteI remember it, so does my family...we usually twist it and say "I don't want to make the donuts, I just want to eat them"
ReplyDeleteI knew exactly what you meant!
ReplyDeleteHaha...ahhh makes sense (not LOL) Must have been before hubby and I moved to the east coast from the west coast in the 90s. As a West coaster we grew up with Winchell's Donuts...yumm! Anyhoo I guess I either never noticed or was too busy raising the kiddos for the DD dude to sink in...thanks for the explanation and the giggles, you always come through. Have a great day
ReplyDeleteA fellow west coast Winchell's aficionado! Well met, good lady! My hubby is from MA, the birthplace of Dunkin Donuts, while I hail from CA the birthplace of Winchell's. We currently live in Asheville, NC, which until fairly recently, had neither. Sigh. We now have a DD, but, obviously, no Winchell's. My favorite donut ever is the Winchell's plain old-fashioned donut. I've never seen that donut anywhere else since leaving CA. Big sad face.

DeleteSay it every day to my dog!
ReplyDeleteYup, remembered it right away. And, when I brushed my teeth this morning, I "wondered where the yellow went," even though I didn't use Pepsodent! Do they even make that stuff any more?
ReplyDeleteyes, I remember it well. My husband and I say it when we have to go to work but really don't feel like it...Ughh..."Time to make the donuts."
ReplyDeleteKnew exactly what you meant. One has to be a certain age. Baby Brother looked confused when I asked if he remembered this. (To be truthful he often looks confused when I spring this stuff on him.) He's 10 years younger so….
ReplyDeleteMy excuse is that we don't have Dunkin Donuts in Australia. LOL
ReplyDeleteMegan
Sydney, Australia
Are you kidding? Of course we knew what meant! My husband grew up in Salem, MA, not far from the birthplace of Dunkin Donuts. Silly Spinster. :)
ReplyDeleteAhhh, now I understand! LOLOLOL! Thanks for that! There are a few Dunkin Donuts in the UK - but I've never come across any - even on holiday! Probably centred in the cities where I avoid!
ReplyDeleteI remember!
ReplyDeleteI used to say that every morning when i got up for work!!
Marilyn
Oh, yes! That's what I said for the four years I made pumpkin donuts for the Gmen's high school football dinners!
