I also wanted to clear up my wearing of the leggings in public. I only do so with a top that completely and adequately covers both my heiney parts and my belly parts (sorry Anne, but my belly parts are name Quasimodo because they hang on my front like a gargoyle on a cathedral). For dialysis, they allow me to sit without seams or zippers, etc getting uncomfortable on my jiggly bits after several hours.
(And yes...once I get a new kidney and am able to do so, I plan on finding a really good surgeon who can perform a front end realignment and allow me to see my toes again.)
(Will somebody please remind me to stop talking about my intimate secrets so much? Methinks we've entered into the TMI zone and need to find our way out...toot sweet.)
(Where's Stewey when you need him? This is the exact kind if thing that would have sent him into a rant if epic proportions.)
As for those of you who say "I could never wear that kind of thing"...trust me when I tell you that once you do you'll be hooked!
Today and tomorrow will be spent in the Happy Chair or the big girl sleigh bed for sure. My cold worsened overnight and I am determined not to let this thing get down in my chest. So I'm pushing fluids...taking the Mucinex...resting....and sending JB out for chicken noodle soup later. If I can get my eyes to stop watering I might try to stitch, but at the moment I am quite...drippy.
Happy Saturday, my Dearies! I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Love those leggings you had on in your last post. And I need them... . There is a sign in my yoga studio that proclaims, "Leggings are pants." Amen and ye verily. I too wear leggings and tops over them to cover my sins. Life is too short and uncomfortable not to go around in comfortable clothes. Does that make sense? You are the only one you have to make happy. Love yourself.
ReplyDeleteSorry about your cold, Coni. Take care.
ReplyDeleteBeing comfortable is one of my life goals, go for it!
ReplyDeleteA cold is horrible!! If you put a big squeeze of lime juice and a few drops of hotsauce into the chicken soup it will help! At least it does
ReplyDeleteFor me. Thoughts coming your way!!!
I am sorry that cold is still hanging around. I say stay in, rest, drink up on the fluids, and stitch when you are able. Then repeat!
ReplyDeleteYou're doing all the right things, including the chicken soup. It does a body good! :D Love, hugs and prayers, Cathryn ♥♥♥
ReplyDeleteI think Stewey would say, "Keep plugging away, my dear...
ReplyDeleteWhatever gets you through the night....Proud of you..
You've earned the comfort...and the tummy tuck !!"
Stewey would most definitely say..."Mo-ther, you are amazing and shouldn't give a F*&+" what anyone says, especially those who have neither the common sense nor the good grace that God gave them!" and then he would adjust his cravat, raise his glass of Pims, and give a rye smirk, before settling in for some sun snoozing.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful stitchy chair weekend and feel better soon!
Hugs
I had to smile when I read your post, Coni. I am sitting in my room in the rehab unit wearing a black Tshirt and bike shorts, knee high compression stockings, and red and white walking socks. I am a very generously sized 70 yr old with possibly the fattest legs you have ever seen. I intend to wear this outfit to the unit gym shortly and for my exercise and walking sessions during the day. I left my dress sense with my modesty at the door of this hospital 6 days ago when I came in for my knee replacement surgery. Comfort is everything! Carry on - you're doing great!
ReplyDeleteConi-It is a wonderful thing on a daily basis that I find more and more ways to get use out of my amazon prime free shipping. I may or may not have ordered myself a colorful pair of leggings.
ReplyDeleteLeggings are the way to go. You can dress them up or down in no time. And people who worry about what other people wear have too much time on their hands so wear those legging all you want and to wherever you want :)
ReplyDeleteHope your cold goes away soon. Your leggings are so cute! You should be as comfortable as you are in your jammies whenever you get your dialysis!
ReplyDeleteComfort is overrated - said no one I know EVER! Kick that cold to the curb, it's become like an unwelcome relative.
ReplyDeleteThinking about you here in Denver, dear friend. Hang in there, you're doing all the right things and taking care of yourself.
ReplyDeleteFeel better Coni! ❤️
ReplyDeleteIf the leggings feel anything like yoga pants, I'm right there with you. ;-) Get well soon!
ReplyDeleteWait...what does one search for on the Amazon to find those leggings (besides "leggings" obviously)?? I need to find something comfortable to wear around the house instead of my cotton nighties. I like them, but my husband crabs about it. On the other hand, he sits around in his boxers when he's home, so...
