There's nothing like puppy love! I loved those photos last year, and I love seeing them now. It was such a sweet, emotional time. You stood by him and gave him a good life until the end. He's so adorable and I miss him. You are in my prayers.
LOVE the best four letter word in the world - we are so blessed when we have been lucky enough to have experienced it! This crazy world we are living in could use much more of it. Can I get an AMEN! You are such a warm caring creative person I am so happy you have experienced that kind of unwavering love. He will be with you for every. Cry your eyes out and drink diet coke to celebrate Master Stewey.
Great pics and memories of Stewey. Thanks for sharing them again with us. He will always be in our memories too. You gave him the bestest life! Take care. Marilyn
There will never be another Stewey Angus Willowswamp ... how blessed we all are to have known his charm ... have a serene and love-filled day, Coni dear.
Awe...sweet pic of Stewey. I think we all miss him, he was so cute and funny! I like to think he is in heaven trying to teach my little Min Pins some manners...he has his hands full! xxoo Mj
We do miss that sweet face and sharp wit. I agree with Susie. Stewey had to go home to God, but God sent you Rich. It doesn't fill the void Stewey left, it never will, but its a new kinda love. relish it as much as you relished Stewey's love.
. Stewey loved you and you loved him. I loved hearing your Stewey stories and especially when he would take over your blog. Take care and know you are both loved and cared about!
My heart goes out to you at the time of this "anniversary". When we had to put my beloved rescue rabbit to sleep, the words to the song Nature Boy kept coming to mind. That song said so well what I felt at the time. Years have passed, and tears have been soothed with wonderful memories (which will happen for you, too). Thank you for sharing the great love that carried you through the happy and excruciatingly difficult times. And here's to Stewey, running around in Heaven with his clipboard!
There was a boy A very strange, enchanted boy They say he wandered very far Very far, over land and sea A little shy and sad of eye But very wise was he
And then one day One magic day he passed my way While we spoke of many things Fools and kings This he said to me:
“The greatest thing you’ll ever learn Is just to love and be loved in return.”
You are so lucky he chose to spend his life with you, such lovely memories. A nice way to mark his anniversary would be to donate something to a local animal shelter, maybe a finished stitchery to raffle for fundraising. ... when you are well enough you could volunteer to walk a dog every week or so.
I have had a few dogs in my lifetime and loved them lots but I am not sure there has ever been another dog as loved as Stewey was. He was as lucky to have you as you were to have him. xo
Pure sweet unconditional love. Cry because you miss him, laugh and smile because he will always be your baby.

ReplyDeleteA sweet, sweet boy. You were both so fortunate to have each other. I like this quotation from Rumi: "We're all just walking each other home." ❤️
