A QUICK NOTE ABOUT BOSCO

Friends, I've received a fair number of notes from you expressing concern for my puppy tot, Bosco and his well being.  I appreciate your concern, and want to make sure to tell you that he is going to leave Chez Spinster so that he can be with his mommie/my sister, and so that he will not have to go through the trauma of Stewey's passing.

We will miss him terribly, but he's been through an awful lot in the last few years, and he deserves much more than I can give hm right now.

OK?

  1. Coni,
    I am thinking about you and understand what you are going through with Stewey. Our pets are some of the best parts of our lives. I think that it is so hard to go through this because we love them so much. But you know that! Hang in there.

  2. Losing an adored pet (aren't they all) is difficult for everyone----people, other dogs, and other household pets. They bring so much to this 'goat rodeo' ( to quote a wise friend) we call life. We are all with you in this.;

  3. Nothing to add, but to say Stewey is so cute with his little blankie.

  4. I think that is a good idea. When we lost our schnauzer Sherlock, our pug Zoe went through such grieving. Only when we moved and she could no longer "look" for him or smell his scents did she recover. It is traumatic for them as well as for us. You are a very special person. I wish I lived near to you so I could give you a hug in person!

  7. I hope you know how much we care about you all. Many of us are far away, thousands of miles, but we worry so much about you and Stewey and Bosco and send you so much love. I hardly dare read your posts these days and feel my body relax when I see all is well - as well as can be just now anyway. Irene xxx

  8. My sister's JRT, who turns 17 tomorrow, is most likely going through kidney failure. So very hard. I know that Bosco would feel Stewey's absence keenly as evidenced by my own pups obvious depression when our beloved Kenzie passed away. I knew when I read your prior post that whatever was happening was for Bosco's well being. Sending you all a hug!

  9. It is very true, when I lost my beloved Aussie, Fraggles, our golden retriever, Chrissy, went into such a funk. It took her many months to return to herself but even then, there was a sadness about her. My horses did the same when we lost our Joey, the mares sorta went a bit out of their heads calling for him. I am glad that Bosco has returned to someone he knows. I pray for you and Stewey daily, I hope that you find comfort in knowing you have friends everywhere!

  11. I am so very relieved to hear that Bosco is going back to his Mom. I was afraid you were having to send him to someone else. I hope he will be safe and happy with his Mom.

  12. I was kind of shocked that people thought you were shipping him to heavens knows where. I was hoping that Bosco would be there to help comfort you when the time came but this just shows how you put others before you and are making sure Bosco doesn't have to go through losing Stewey. You are one in a million! Hugs!

    1. Yeah I couldn't believe how people jumped straight to the idea that he was being sent to a dog food factory or something. Sheesh. Coni is not heartless!

  13. I am glad to hear Bosco is going back to live with your sister, who should have been taking care of him all along. Bosco is so sweet. However, you have your hands full with your own health issues and keeping Stewey comfortable and relatively pain-free due to his disease.
