A LITTLE STITCHING...A LITTLE PLANNING

My Bargello Challenge is still coming along.  I managed to almost fininsh another section yesterday while watching a little marathon of "The  Newsroom".  I have to say....I never would have imagined that I would like these colors together as much as I do.  Makes me think of a big bowl of sherbert!

With the Olympics just around the corner, I decided to start gathering projects that might be suitable.  I had originally thought these might work:

But, now I'm wondering if this one might be more fun done in reds, whites, and blues:

Or I might just break with tradition completely and stitch Poppers as is, since the colors kinda scream Rio in August to me for some reason.   Three weeks to decide...

Stewey and Bosco and I overdid it a bit yesterday.  It seemed like every time I turned around we were chasing pumpkins or eating cookies or running outside to look at the clouds.  I am so desperate not to miss one single minute with him that I think I'm driving us both 'round the bend a bit.  I need to calm the heck down and just...be.

  2. Poppers in it's original colors do scream RIO!!!! How about the outside row all the way around in red, white, and blue and the rest in Rio colors? Just a thought.

  4. Enjoy every moment with your fur-baby!

As to the stitchy projects, I say do the Poppers in original colors with the exception of some strategically placed red white and blue changes.

  6. Hi Coni! So happy you were able to get "out and about" on Saturday. A new view always inspires a new outlook on things.

And I LOVE the Bargello colors...so chic, yet sassy! And your idea of doing 'Poppers' in the original colorway seems more Rio to me, but whatever you decide will be gorgeous, per your usual conversions. Big, BIG hugs to your sweet little 4-legged critters from my BIG 4-legged critter (Greyhound).

  7. I think I'd feel the same way about wanting to spend and enjoy every moment. But you will relax, and you will do what ultimately feels right to do. He is lucky to have you!

  8. Sometimes it's hard to just 'be', especially when you know what the future holds. I guess that's why I'm glad I don't know too much. Still thinking a bunch of you and Stewey and sending love and prayers. -Cathryn

  12. I agree with all the others that Poppers screams Rio, but I do hope that someday the project that must not be mentioned will reappear during the Olympics. With all you have stitched since that project was first attempted, it would surely be a breeze for you to stitch now.

  15. That Bargello challenge looks great and like something I would enjoy stitching. Go with Poppers - you like to stitch all those small different shapes, regardless of the colors! As for Stewey, just enjoy your time with him.

  16. Poppers, in the original colors, reminds me of the Tahiti piece you did a couple of years ago. I think they would look great together.

  17. I love the colors in your bargello challenge! And can't wait to see what you decide to stitch for the olympics.

And as tuckered out as Stewey is I am sure he loved all the pumpkin chasing, cookie eating and cloud watching. He is lucky to have you for a mum!

  19. Love the bargello piece and those colors, also the original colorway of Poppers screams Rio. I am pretty sure Stewey is happy with "normal" - and a few extra treats here and there are sure to make you feel better. You and the furbabies remain in my prayers.
