The almost true exploits of an intrepid spinster and her stitching...and all of the things that make up her crazy, happy, quiet little life.

UM...OK....THIS IS NEW.
In his eleven years, one month, and thirteen years on this planet, I have never seen Stewey sleep flat on his back like that. Wonder if he's doing that to try to tan his tummy?!
"No, Mo-ther. This is officially my pose of surrender. Are we EVER going to get this place back to normal? Now put down that wretched camera and fetch me my tea and toast."
I have a cat who sleeps in that position. I think it means, "I finally trust you and even Bosco so thoroughly that I will expose my vulnerable belly to you".
I think Evelyn is correct. The three dogs that I live with when I visit my cousin sleep in that position when they are just worn out. It really is a sweet thing to see
It is total and complete trust. Tells me that Stewey now trusts Bosco. Not only does Stewey have you to his back, but he now trusts Bosco to have his back. My Lola (min., Yorkie) has done this since she was a baby. My Bear (min., Yorkie - Lola's big brother) only does this when I pet him while he is sleeping. That way he knows he is not the only one guarding the homefront...
Hi Coni, Hoping all is well and it is just a very busy day for you. You are so faithful with the blog posts. My Bellabear (feline) frequently sleeps belly up in the summer time. Of course, HFH also requires special treats of people food on a daily basis. He prefers turkey, pork, or salmon or beef, or pieces of omelet to tea and toast, and eats quite daintily but is persistent and effective in making his royal demands known.
Coni, I have a Westie, and he frequently sleeps belly-up. I love it when he does. What would we do without our pets! I also love the word "futzing". My grandmother always talked about "futzing" with things. She used lots of German expressions. I say it too sometimes.

ReplyDeleteStewey, don't forget the sunscreen. They are too cute sleeping side by side.

ReplyDeleteCould be Stewey just did this so you would have a topic for today. After all, he is one smart puppy... Have you asked him?
