WE'RE ALMOST THERE!

I'm thiiiiis close to finishing LHN's "My Needle's Work". I would have finished it last night, but I had to get out of the Happy Chair every ten minutes to go check the front porch to see if the brown recluse spider was still there. (At least I convinced myself that it was a brown recluse spider.)

So instead of working on that border, I sat in the chair with a case of the heebie jeebies all night.

I hate nature.

  1. Coni, it looks great! You've surely stitched it up fast. Great job!

  2. Could have been worse. I woke up and discovered a bat flying around inside at the upstairs landing. Why I didn't fall down the stairs in shock I do not know.

    We stitchers are tough!

  3. Really Pretty Coni - I particularly like the shading on the border leaves, and her face, and the rooster, and ...well pretty much all of it!
(it's the attack of the killer slugs that does me in!)

  8. Nearly there - maybe you should add a spider motif too!

I've just finished reading a book that featured lots and lots of brown recluse spiders and a guy with spider eyes tattooed on his forehead - hence he always wore a red baseball cap. The stuff of nightmares eh?

  9. Your LHN looks great! And I hope that spider hit the road. Ugh! There is nothing worse than spiders!! I think that I would have gone out with a can of hairspray or something hoping to kill it.

  10. Lovely stitchy!! If I absolutely have to kill a spider in the house (if DH is not around!!!) I go get his shoe!! I don't want it smashed on the bottom of MY shoe...LOL I would have gotten the bug spray and sprayed the h... out of it...YUK!!

  11. Ahhhh... believe me I can think of many bugs worse than spiders. At least the spiders eat a lot of the other little buggers....

  12. Hi Coni,

It looks great and you are soooooo close!

    Hopefully you will finish tonight.

About the spider, ignore him and he will go away and in the meanwhile he is eating lots of other bugs. ;-)

I've dealt with several bats and birds in the house and they are worse. Picture my mother and I running around the house around 2am with crab nets and a broom chasing a bat. If the police had driven by and looked in the window... Well, they would have been mighty concerned or would have been laughing as we were in our night clothes and my mother had a towel over her head. By the way, she has very tall ceilings in her very old house! LOL!!!

  13. It looks fantastic. I love the thread colours you used, they have a very nice variegation.
I couldn't sit still either knowing about a spider out there ...
