Phooey.
Last week I went out into the world like a normal adult and did various and sundry things.
This week I have a cold/flu/plague situation that is making me think I should probably re-watch the 1970's classic film "The Boy In The Plastic Bubble" to review important safety tips.
Why can't I a) just be like everybody else and b) be smart enough to WEAR A DAMN MASK whenever I leave the house?
Yup. 100% self-imposed, and I do not feel one bit sorry for myself that I am now sitting here wanting my mommy and a TV tray with chicken dumpling soup, saltines, and ginger ale next to me. I give myself no grace for thinking that I could spend 9 hours in an ER or go to umpteen medical facilities without catching SOMETHING from SOMEBODY.
Lesson learned. Your Spinster will forthwith be donning appropriate PPE and will be avoiding all crowds, labs, restrooms, and plague-ridden facilities for the immediate future.
Seriously, Dearies. No fever, GI symptoms, shortness of breath, pain, etc etc. Just a damn cold/cough that has me guzzling fluids, carefully administering doctor-approved Mucinex and Tylenol, and sleeping my butt off.
Stitching progress:
Wherever you are and whatever you're doing...I hope it's blowing your skirt right up! I'm going to settle in with a hot shower, fresh pajamas, and something good in the TeeVee this afternoon and hopefully finish my project!
What are you up to?

That sucks Coni. Sorry to hear it! Sending you healthy thoughts. Rest, soup, more rest, more soup, ginger ale, rest...xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteSo sorry! My brother worked in hospital ER for years and never got sick even though flu and virus surrounded him. No mask at that time. But constant hand sanitizer.
ReplyDeleteI think a mask needs to 100% part of your attire when leaving Spinsterville. "Just" a cold is a bit better scenario though. Debby in CO
ReplyDeleteOh Coni, sorry to hear about the cold! Hopefully, it will be short-lived and you will be right as rain in just a few. I'm prepping today and tomorrow for a Williamsburg adventure that will begin on Thursday and a 2-day event on Friday/Saturday. Thinking of you!
ReplyDeleteConi, Think of a mask as current fashion attire! Do you notice ( you will now !! ) how many people are wearing masks these days? I am sure they are not all wearing them to protect the rest of us but to prevent themselves from getting sick. Ten years ago people would have thought it was strange but not anymore..So stock up on hand gel and use it often when out and wear that mask. It is truly worth the bother!!
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry! Liz in Oak Park
ReplyDeleteWhat Carol and Anonymous said! Last week, I took my bestie for hip surgery (10 hours in a hospital) and her daughter for a test (an hour in a different hospital) the next day and masked throughout. There are all kinds of germs and viruses waiting to cause misery. Let’s all protect ourselves and each other!
ReplyDeleteIt's going around. Had it 2 weeks ago, now my son has it. For me, it felt like something stronger than a cold. It thinks it's some kind of flu. Took 2 darn weeks to fully recover. Drink lots fluids and rest. Get well soon.
ReplyDeleteYes. Just wear the dang mask, wipe down cart handles, use your hand sanitizer. Covid and flu floating around here, affecting even the healthiest of us - so with all your issues, just be That Person and be smart. Wear. The. Mask. ox -p in AZ
