Normally, I come home from the chair with two boo boos. Today, though, thanks to an uncooperative Buzzy and a nervous tech...I got three.
Oey.
In another hour I will remove the eighteen rolls of tape, grab an ice pack, and just try to forget today happened.
Oh man, you just can't win. I'm so very sorry. A transplant can't come soon enough. Sending healing vibes your direction kiddo.
ReplyDeleteYikes! Praying for healing!

Ouch! Prayers for healing & easier days to come. Gentle hugs

I am SO SORRY you are having these problems!!!! Coni, please hear me. This is coming from a retired nurse....you must speak up and tell whoever is in charge that you really, really need a confident & experienced tech (the nurse supervising your techs would be even better!) to take care of your dialysis because your body is still becoming conditioned to it and apparently still quite compromised from previous procedures. Please speak up...a professional will NOT take it personally, they will take it seriously & figure out how to send you home with less trauma. Meanwhile, I'm praying that you have a special "angel" intercede for you to find comfort & way less pain! Hugs to you, sweet lady!
ReplyDeleteYes, yes, YES!!!! You must advocate for yourself. This picture makes me want to drive to Indiana and shake this tech on your behalf...and I'm not normally prone to violence. Please don't be afraid to speak up for fear of hurting feelings or making enemies. I'm sure you can calmly (with a smile) ask for an experienced tech on Wednesday. Frankly, I would speak to a supervisor today about my experience yesterday so that tomorrow will be (hopefully) a normal session. Coni, you are a strong, strong woman. I hate to think what my reaction to that treatment would have been...not pretty, and definitely not ladylike. ha!
DeleteSending hugs and prayers on your behalf.
Connie is right, you must speak up. As someone who has veins that roll and hide, I give them one chance after that I ask for a different tech. My veins are not meant to be dug into or practiced on.
ReplyDeleteAnother one advocating that you speak up. Right now you need experience to help you get through your adjustment period.
ReplyDeleteMore hugs being sent your way!
Ouuuuuccccchhhhh
