I’m so sorry to read this. You have already been through so much. Sending you best wishes and prayers for a speedy recovery and hope you come out of this feeling so much better.
Just let your emotions do their thing Coni. That’s a tough one when it’s elective surgery….so emergency surgery due to a perforation is a big deal! This is a shock to your system physically and emotionally. Remember you are brave and you are strong and you have my prayers as does JB
Coni, my thoughts and prayers are with you. You are very strong, and perhaps this is why you just have not been feeling well for quite a while. One day at a time, I say. You have all of our support and love. You will get through this. We are all here for you. Donna
My prayers and thoughts are with you. I’ve witnessed you conquering all the health problems you have encountered. You can do this with grit, determination and some damn good.
Praying for you, Coni. My brother, surprisingly to me, adapted very well to his colostomy, and I believe you will, too. I'm so sorry you have to go through this. May God bless you and keep you. (((hugs)))
Oh no!!! Wishing you a speedy recovery from surgery and a future where you feel better than ever! It’s an adjustment, but the case for so many who have struggled with an angry colon for year.
Thinking of you now and in the coming days. Hope you heal fast and are home soon. Life likes to place bumps in the road but you are an inspiration at how to navigate them!
Wishing you a speedy recovery so you can get home, with lots of stitching while you adapt to the new lifestyle. You are strong and will get through this, as you have with your Beanie challenges.
Oh wow, that's quite the news. You've gone through so much over the years so I am confident you will adapt to this new challenge. Hope you feel well enough to have some stitchy time real soon. Sending healing thoughts from below zero Wisconsin.
Wow Coni. You have been through so much - it's understandable that you are raw physically and emotionally. Your grief and frustration are warranted. Thinking of you and sending up prayers for strength and comfort - for you, your family, and med team/Dr's wisdom. I wish I was all enough to be of some real assistance.
I am so very sorry to hear this news. You continue to be in my prayers. Wishing you a smooth recovery, and much strength and comfort as you go through this latest health challenge. Mary
I am very sorry for this added challenge to your life. I am praying that there is light at the end of this tunnel and that you will be returned to health and vitality. Be strong and give yourself grace!
OMG! I am so sorry to hear this news! I do hope that you recover quickly physically and mentally. That is a pretty big event for anyone to have in their life. We will all be pulling for you to be home soon. Hugs!
I have a relative who had the same procedure done recently at a very young age and it was very well tolerated and healed up beautifully. She now has had a "J" pouch surgery done which is a reversal of sorts of the original surgery and is doing very well. There is a light at the end of the tunnel Coni!!
Oh dear Coni, I’m so sorry to hear this! I’m sorry I don’t have the right words to comfort you; it has to be a huge shock emotionally and physically. I know you’re strong after all you’ve been through and can get through this too. Lean on JB, your friends and stitchy community, and of course, therapy (assuming you’re so inclined). I will keep you in my prayers. Hugs, Kathy B
Guess what! I'm in the hospital going through tests to figure out what's wrong got ctas of my head and neck coming up. It really sucks being sick and being in the hospital.
Oh Coni, I’m so sorry to hear this. Thank God you’re being taken care of. Please just take care of yourself, you’re so strong you’ll get through this. My sister in law had a colostomy about twenty years ago, she was in her early thirties. She’s been living and thriving with it all these years. I’m sure you’ll do the same. Just know that there are so many people who love you and are rooting for you. You’re in my prayers, as you have been all these years. 💙
So sorry you are going through this. Stay strong. You will be naming the colostomy bag and telling us all about your adventures together. Take it slow, learn all about it and then deal with it. You are one of the bravest people I know! Take care of you!!
I feel for you and your many health challenges. You have overcome them, but I am sure it just gets harder and harder. I am so sorry and will keep you in my prayers. You are always in my thoughts.

Oh dear. I'm sure this wasn't on your to-do list for 2026. I hope you have a complete and uneventful recovery! I know you will get past this slight hump in the road. I'll be thinking of you.
Okay. You are a bag lady. This is not the worst things. You are alive to tell us the tale. I was in a terrible state once about fifteen years ago--in a cancer hospital with a large mass that had made me truly sick, sick, sick. Several months later I was healthy again. It turned out not to be cancer but I realized it really was true that it really is small stuff if we are alive! There is nothing we should stress about if we living. So, please keep on living. You are so dear to so many of us, Connie!
