THURSDAY...ALL DAY

Please scoozee the wrinkles, but here is my progress thus far on Plum Street's "Beans Beans":

Two more ladies and the lettering and this will be ready for a frame!  And...rather than futz with it and stuff it into a ready made (and screw it up like I usually do) I am going to take it to House of Stitches and let Miss Cherrie work her magic on it.

Bosco and I are still enjoying each other's company.  He is quite funny with his little quirks and routines, and I catch myself laughing at his antics throughout the day.  At the moment, he is snoring under the ottoman blanket...happy as a little clam.  He will do this until our afternoon play time, and then, after dinner, he will snuggle in for a little TeeVee and stitching.  He sleeps with me in the big girl sleigh bed, but it is about as different from Stewey's sleeping as you can get.  Stewey weighed almost nothing, was as soft as a little bunny, and smelled like baby shampoo.  He also slept under the covers next to my legs, and never moved very much throughout the night.  This little guy is quite a heavy little meatloaf, and insists on sleeping on top of the covers...belching, snoring, and tooting his way through Dreamland while I try to un-trap myslef from the twisted sheets. He also has a propensity for making his way to the head of the bed, so that by the time he decides to get up at 6:30 am he's laying fully on top of my head.

Damn dog.

Flosstube has also been my constant companion, and I am continually amazed and humbled by the love and wonderfulness of this thing of ours.  I feel like I've made a thousand new friends, and can't wait to visit with them each afternoon... much like my anticipation of visiting with all of you in the mornings.

Is there any better feeling on the planet than to have found one's tribe at last?

Thank you for your comments about Chez Spinster.  I am absolutely gutted that I will be leaving here (it is not at all by my choice), but I am trying to think of the move in positive terms and have promised myself that one day I will come back, walk up the front sidewalk, ring the doorbell, and tell whomever happens to be living here that I would like to buy it back.  This is my little dream house, damnit, amd as God is my witness, they are going to carry me outta' here feet first one day.  I know that this plan sounds a little nuts, but it is literally the only way I can bring myself to face the idea of moving. So unless y'all know where I can find a winning lottery ticket, I suppose I better get started with the purging and packing!

So that's the report for the day. I expect to be in the Happy Chair stitching away as soon as I finish a little paperwork and do a few chores.  Ideally, I would like to finish this piece tonight so that I can start my birthday off tomorrow with a new start!  We'll see how it goes...

Hope your very own Thursday is swell and wonderful in all sorts of ways, my dearies.  Do something fun and come tell me all about it!

  1. Coni,
I'm sorry you have to move. I say this as one who has moved numerous times from PA to AK to MN to TX. It is especially hard to move when you don't really want to. I'm not Sandra from Texas because I wanted to be. Anyway, I'm so glad you're enjoying your visit with Boscoe and just in case I don't get back tomorrow, I'm wishing you the "Happiest of Birthdays!"

  2. Coni LMAO ... Little meatloaf...Too funny & just what I needed as I sit @ my back Dr waiting for my driver to get me too much pain today. If I had a winning ticket I would share with you. Just remember that we will all be coming with you where ever you go. If we were closer I'd send my giant strong son to help you move too. Blessings Baa (who is in dire need of her big girl bed)

  3. Hi Coni - Just wondering whether it's possible for you to rent your house while you live in an apartment for enough to cover your expenses for both - just an idea. Wishing you all the best.

    1. My thought, exactly, If it is possible at all, please consider leasing / renting out an option.

  4. I echo the idea that an alternative might be found to hold onto your home until you can occupy it again. Were
you closer to any of us, I suspect there would be a happy
chair and a big girl sleigh bed at your disposal gratis
until you could return to your homestead. Wishing you only
the very best in your decision and plans....

  6. Beans Beans is looking great - am amazed at how fast you're zipping through it.

Regarding your dream of ringing the doorbell/buying the house back - a European soccer star (Zlatan Ibrahimovic by name, just in case anyone else cares about soccer) met the owners of his dream house"through a mutual acquaintance and said to them "We're visiting today because you're living in our house." So dream ahead - it certainly worked for him!

  8. Haha! Bosco is something! Yoir stitching is beautiful, as always. I'm so sorry you have to move. You'll wake up one morning and your new place will be home. It'll sneak up on you without you realizing it.

  10. I am in agony with a back issue and it actually does hurt to laugh. Bedtime Bosco was excruciating, but worth it. I agree with others, check with a realtor about leasing your home, at least for a year until you are settled and feel comfortable with letting it go.

  13. I love your home, and have enjoyed cozy views of your fireplace, the way the sun shines in your window, and the view outside the window. I also was going to mention the leasing idea. It might be a good option if you can make it work financially. I do applaud you, though, for doing what needs to be done to take care of yourself. Beans looks great!

  14. Coni, I didn't want to mention your home, because somehow I knew you were doing it because you had to, not because you wanted too. I hope and pray that all your dreams come true. AND, since it is after midnight, may I be the first to wishe you a Happy Birthday and may your special day be truly blessed. Hugs & Prayers, Cathryn

  16. Bosco is so cute...I laughed at your description of the sleeping arrangements at Chez Spinster...esp the tooting. I had a Min Pin that used to flutter her tail whenever she tooted, so we always knew when to leave the room!

I am so sorry you have to move out of your dream house Coni. We were forced to move last year from Colorado to Texas for financial reasons, and it took a lot of downsizing, which we are still doing. It is amazing how much 'stuff' we collect! But now, I am so glad we did, I love it here. Maybe you will love your new home too.
Thinking about you daily in your life adventure with 'buzzy'...xxoo

  17. When the economy tanked my husband and I both lost our jobs and we lost our home. We were devastated as we had built our home and put so much into it. It ended up having to move 500 miles for my husband to find work. It was very stressful, but I can tell you after the dust settled we are thriving in our new city and our new rental home. I know you are facing so much, and I wish you the best
