IN WHICH WE DISCOVER THE JOY OF THE GREATEST SOCKS EVER MADE

These are fuzzy socks from the JoAnns.  I think they were about three bucks for a pack of two pair, and all I know is that they are changing my life.  They are warm and fuzzy and stupid stupid soft, and the designs are whimsical and making me happy.

I am determined to stitch today, but I need to get my wits about me.  Last night's dialysis session was rather drama-filled because I clotted and then decided to lose my blood pressure.  Let me tell you, kids, if you ever want to see a trauma team in action, let your blood pressure drop to 60/40.  I've never had that experience before, and I'm not sure I ever want to have it again, but the team was well-prepared and I lived to tell the tale.  Just a little worse for wear today about the head and arm, but nothing a Tylenol and a few ice packs won't remedy, I'm sure.

Today is bitterly cold and snowy outside, so the Jersey Boy and I are hunkered down with sports on the TeeVee and a pot roast for dinner.  I had hoped to be with my stitchy sisters today, but alas, methinks it will be the Happy Chair and the big girl sleigh bed until tomorrow morning when I venture out into the tundra for the next adventure.

Thank you, as always, for your notes and love and support and encouragement.  Please forgive my negligence in responding to you properly....I am fretting over the lapse of etiquette but know that you will all understand.

I hope that your very own Saturday is warm and safe and dry, Dearies.  Let's see what fun we can get into and then come tell each other all about it!

  1. I'm so sorry thing are not going smoothly for you (what an understatement), but you are in my prayers. Those trauma teams are amazing. My BP did that years ago while in labor with my first child. Ended in a Emergency C-section but we are both here to tell the tale. aka it slow and know there are many of us in your corner. Happy stitching and hugs,
    Rose

  2. I have read about that happening during dialysis...they will tweak things to make sure it goes more smoothly next time. I wish things could go more smoothly for you!
Still stitching on the same sampler, when I can stay awake that is. I seem to be sleepy all.the.time. I am thinking 20 hours a day may be too much?

  7. We had a dusting of snow which made me smile when I got up this morning. I think being hunkered down with fuzzy socks (will have to check them out)is a good way to spend a Saturday. Thinking of you, Coni!

  8. Sorry you’re having troubles at dialysis.....and hoping things get better SOON! Enjoy the warmth of home, your fuzzy socks, football, and pot roast with your Jersey boy! We are basically doing the same....staying warm inside and watching the games, but will eat left-over pasta later for dinner!

  9. Love the socks! I may have to venture out and find some just like yours.

Glad you are staying inside, warm and toasty. I have to tell you, Coni, you truly are my hero. I know...really, I do...how crappy you feel. And the fact that you can type out anything at all just blows my mind. I know you don't feel like it, but pat yourself on the back. You. Are. Awesome. Mindy

  15. I know you and Buzzy will get this routine down soon! My prayer is for VERY soon. And yes, staying in is best. Not sure if you to be out in the cold. We cooled off quite a bit in some of the Denver area, the part I'm in for sure, and we'll get colder. But we're on the edge of the cold front. There are many if my stitching friends in the real grip of the deep freeze - I wish them safety and blessings seeing in the New Year.
