NEW LEAF

So here we are on September 1 already!  I know that everybody says it, but where has this year gone already?!

In an effort to get back into routine, I have decided that it's time to start taking better care of the small stuff.  Like making the bed each day.  And drinking more water.  And being better about taking care of my poor old dried out skin.

When I went to the Targets yesterday to pick up a prescription, I grabbed this:

The price was right...free after I used my $5 gift card...so you can't beat that, right?  I applied a thick layer last night before bedtime and have to say that thus far I am pretty happy with the results.  I know that it's probably not the best lotion on the planet, but...baby steps.

I started binge-watching Outlander last night in anticipation of the Season Three premiere on September 10.  I made it through the first three episodes...only twenty-six more to go!

Poppers is coming along...only three more rows and it will be finished!

So that's the Friday report from the friendly confines of the Happy Chair, my Dearies.  I have a haircut appointment at 1:15 and then it's off to the grocery for a few provisions for the long holiday weekend.  Nothing special on the menu...I still don't have an appetite to speak of, but maybe something good will strike my fancy!

Hope your Friday is perfectly perfect in every way!

  2. Poppers is such a GORGEOUS piece and your stitching is wonderful. What are you going to do with it Coni? I think it should be a colorful greeting near your front door. WOW. I am looking forward to a peaceful holiday weekend. I hope your weekend is wonderful. Is it raining there. It's raining here in Northwest KY. Ahhhhh Harvey. Just keeps hanging on. Take care. Love, hugs & prayers, Cathryn ♥

    This Poppers is coming along
beautifully. Looks like the perfect autumnal touch for your decor.
I use Curel ultra healing on my hands arms legs & feet after every shower & as needed on hands/ feet during the day.
It's not greasy absorbs completely & doesn't leave a mark on my stitchery, fabric clothing furniture nor does it bother the kitten.
    Happy September 1

  4. Poppers looks great. I couldn't get on with Outlander. Jamie is gorgeous, but I can't stand Claire. She is such a bossy, domineering cow who doesn't seem like a 1940s woman, and I can't believe how she thinks her attitude will work in the 1700s. I know its fiction but I just couldn't watch it, eventhough I love historicals and science fiction/time travel/fantasy. I will add that my husband still watches it, but then he watches Coronation Street. Anyway, enjoy!

  5. I use Jergens Original (Cherry Almond scent) everyday and love it and my skin is in good shape. I am an old lady so I love this scent from my youth.

  7. So I'm curious about this Poppers. It looks so fun to stitch. I imagine how fun it would be to see different color combos; even the colors you have, but used in different places. I once needlepointed a belt that was one long row of squares of different stitches. The colors and placement of them was left up to the stitcher. Is that how Poppers works, or are the specific colors indicated? Either way it is stunning, and I love your colors!

  8. I just received my new Needlepoint Now and immediately went to the last page and there it was another edition of "Down The Rabbit Hole" by our one and only Coni Rich aka Spinster Sister! If anyone has any doubt that this woman isn't grateful for the love and support (in all types) should be sure to buy this magazine and read the last page written by her. SPOILER ALERT be sure to have some tissues available! Once again Coni you have done it to me - you sure know how to put words together to move this portly old lady!

  10. I hope you like Outlander. I have read the series 7 times and I do watch the show. The books are better (and as with many series, different in places). Love all the characters and the tale itself. I am anxiously awaiting the next book in the series (along with the last GoT book), but I suspect it will be awhile for each.

    Have a great weekend!
