AND THERE WAS FEASTING, AND IT WAS...WONDERFUL

The Elkhart EGA carry-in picnic was a rousing success.  We had bar-b-que from Bill's, homeade bread, salads, pie, and ice cream cake.  Every single thing was absolutely delicious.

I know this to be true because I stuffed myself to the gills like the silly bar-b-que glutton I am.

(What can I say?  I just cannot resist brisket or potato salad in any form.)

Today has been a quiet lazy morning of paper, puzzles, and a few cups of damn good with my morning bagel.  It's going on 4pm and I am contemplating a nap with a library book or a few more episodes of Game of Thrones and some stitching.

Speaking of...here's my progress on Star Spangled Banner by Northern Expressions Needlework.  A lovely stitch, to be sure, and now that I have it properly on the q-snaps I am enjoying it much more.

I might continue to play with this one a bit longer before switching to something new.  My WIP basket has some long-suffering undones that might like to see the light of day, so maybe I'll put together a rotation of sorts to get a few pieces completed.

Or maybe not.

I hope your Tuesday is swell.  Do something fun and come tell me all about it!

  1. Well, well, well, GoT, spent time this past week rewatching last season in preparation for the holy hour(s)of obligation on Sunday night. Cannot wait. Got the Hepatitis A shot, part One, today in preparation for uncoming international travel.
I kept hoping to see a new post on this blog. Hurrah. The flag stitching is lovely, the food and guild sounds like it was fantastic.
It is 4:30 and I have been contemplating an ice cream sundae for several hours now.......have a nice evening, Coni. Prayers continue.....

    1. Yes indeed I do! I feel like it gives a little extra oomph and adds a little fancy! (And we all know how much I love the fancy.)

  8. Pretty stitching. Myself and 3 buddies are attending the Silver Needle event this weekend. 2 of us came to pick up one of our wonderful friends (who seems to be having multiple medical sagas of her own, now confined for a few weeks to a wheelchair) then tomorrow we drive to Tulsa for fun, stitching, and stashing! So glad you are relaxing and mentally preparing for the next round, Coni.

  9. Coni, I was admiring your bookcases and wishing I could browse. I have shorter ones bought long ago from Cost-Plus because I lived in CA and tall bookcases were NOT a good idea. I am working on Laura Perin Collage pieces at the moment, highly recommended. I am working on the Quail and the Peony. I do like the stitches on the flag. Beautiful job, blessings, Charlotte from Arizona

  12. Ewwww, Jessicas on 28 ct. linen! You're a better woman than I, mydear.
I started the year with a rotation of 6 UFOs -- one for each evening with Sundays off/stitch whatever. Have finished two UFOs so far! Of course, don't always stitch what "I'm supposed to" on that day, but I'm making progress, so whatever.

  14. I like your idea of the rotations. I think I'll try this for my needlepoint AND my knitting projects. You inspire me, Coni, in many many ways.
