SATURDAY...SATURDAY

I have a feeling that this might be the view today.  I pushed it hard yesterday and still have a way to go yet, so I am going to ease off the gas and call this a resting day.

This is probably the hardest part of this move...learning when to full out stop and not push myself beyond what is safe.  My entire life has been ine big episode of a bull in a china shop, and I was always able to muscle my way through, but now?  Holey Schmoley, I'm tired!

And yes, I know that being on the health teeter totter doesn't help matters any, and the sad fact is that I'm not 23 years old anymore, but when one has been physically hearty and independent her whole life one must learn to pace oneself or one will end up in one very big emergency situation.

Well phooey on that, I say!

I do have a lot of plans for my new life at CS2 beyond where I'm going to put my socks and stitching.  One of the promises I made to myself was that June would be all about moving, July will be about making sure I'm on track weight-wise for transplant, and August will be all about exercise.  There is a swimming pool and fitness center right downstairs, and a few more steps away is a yoga/pilates studio that I'd like to try.  In addition to that, the compplex sits in a big shopping center that has what I think will be a perfect walking area.

So that's the plan, anyway.  But today I'm going to stay still and recover a bit.  I still have to make that Target run and do that bleepity laundry, but no packing or moving shall be done.

Hope your weekend is off to a swell start!  I am going to try to catch up on Flosstube videos this afternoon, and as God is my witness I am going to stitch!

Onward!

  1. Coni, it is good for the mind and the body to have a rest/respite day. Other than the laundry and the Target run, I say sit, drink up on the fluids, and put in a few stitches. Thinking of you!

  2. So glad you are going to stitch and do some relaxing today - you need to pamper yourself a bit. My family has used the "bull in a china closet" saying very often about my grandfather on my dad's side. He was such a character, and I can still see his shoulder's go up and down every time he laughed. Such good memories. Enjoy your good memories today, and happy stitching.

  3. Enjoy your break day and recharge. If only the daily duties like laundry and grocery shopping could stop during big projects! CS2 sounds like a nice complex with all the essentials nearby. I hope the library and needlework shop are close too!

  5. I got tired just looking at the pictures you posted yesterday, and that was before I found out you'd cleaned those shelves as well as emptied them. Dang! Get those feet up and recharge the batteries.

  7. Pacing yourself is so hard when you've always been a non-stop til it's done kinda person. But rest is as important as doing.... cos it means you can do again tomorrow. Well done you. Your plans for life at CS2 sounds fab. X

  11. I wish I could make myself stitch! I'm in a funk...and I can't get up! I wanted to get stuff done today, but no...then my hay guy called and said he was bringing me fifteen bales, so I did get that stacked. I may not be 23 anymore, but even at my age, my animals are unforgiving if I don't provide for them! Now my back is sore between my shoulders, so tomorrow is a rest day for me. Monday my daughter has promised to come and help me organize my sewing room so there is some sense to it, perhaps that will get me to stitching again...I'm going on the second month of my machine gathering dust!
