OH DEAR, OH DEAR, OH DEAR.

Remember that nasty little bout with diverticulitis I had a while ago?  Well, it appears to be back.  With a vengeance.

I thought I had just pulled a muscle, or perhaps my lady parts had decided to finally fall apart, but this morning it dawned on me that the pain is in the exact spot that I had so much trouble with in times past.

I'm blaming the salad.

So it looks like today will be spent in the Happy Chair with lots and lots of fluids and some Tylenol.  If that doesn't do the trick, I'll call my doc and see about getting some pictures and an antiobiotic on board.

Damn, drat, and phooey.

Do you think this is the universe's way of telling me that it's time to stitch again?  I haven't had needle and thread in hand for what feels like weeks now.  I suspect that me not stitching, not reading, not cooking, etc etc is what's causing this mess.

Or maybe it was just a sunflower seed.

Anywhoose...time to remedy the situation toot sweet.  I simply cannot afford to fall apart now.  There is too much to do and this whole new life to get started!

Onward!

  1. Sweetums, moving is a tad stressful. So naturally your body is fighting back! It doesn't like stress. So plant thyself in Ye Old Comfy Chair and rest up. You can unpack a teensy bit tomorrow.

  2. I'm with Jane. I think the stress of the past several months has caught up with your body. I have ulcerative colitis and recently had a small flare (thank heavens not major) that I attributed to the stress of buying a new place and moving. I thought I had left home ownership behind, but I changed my mind. That's just two stressors for me. You've had more than I'd like to count. Sit and relax. Stitching, as we all know, is very therapeutic.

  3. Ouch....pace yourself! The boxes will still be there (goodness knows....too bad they can't unpack themselves....where are the Fantasia brooms, the well-behaved ones....when you need them?). And call the doctor sooner than later. It doesn't hurt to talk it over before it may get worse.

  4. Wenhke, I agree about the Fantasia brooms and what about all of those woodland creatures who helped Cinderella with the housework??!! It's outrageous that they are nowhere to be found. And what about those jet packs that we were promised in 1960?? Coni, you are just going to have to take it easy until all of the magic shows up.

  5. Take it easy, put your feet up, guzzle fluids, and put in a stitch or two. Thinking of you!

  7. Please don't eat any sunflower seeds, they are WAY to salty for you. My mom eats them and they make her ankles swell. They are not good for you.

  10. Follow the loving suggestions given and settle back for a
bit.. pick up the needle for something small and allow yourself to come down... what a mountain you have climbed.
Keep the fluids coming and choose the mild side for food..
    Mother has spoken.

  11. It's the universe telling you to slow down, my friend. You're moved. Everything you want is under your new roof. It does not have to be in its permanent home in the next week, month, or even year. I moved a year ago and I still have a few boxes unopened. Some would say I'm lazy, but I see it as listening to those two ruptured discs in my back and letting them decide when I can do a little here and there. Those boxes are not going to walk out the door unpacked. Sit down, take needle in hand, feel the fiber. Your body and mind will be happy.

  12. Don't fret, you have done an amazing job! The design is beautiful and I can't wait to see your progress. Get some rest! I get very cranky if I overdo.

  13. Take care and please rest a little more.

  14. I think a call to the doctor is a good idea. While you've had this before, other health issues have escalated and may affect you differently. AND time in the stitchy chair with needle and thread is definitely prescribed!!
