SUNDAY

READING: The Masked City by Genevieve Cogman.
(Second in the Invisible Library series.  Totally not my normal kind of thing, but enjoying the escape.)

WRITING: This here blog and my next column for Needlepoint Now.

STITCHING: Nothing, unfortunately.  I sat and stared at James Bond and Flosstube yesterday instead of picking up a needle.  Hoping to fix that today.
(I need to remember that stitching is like medicine for me, and if I miss it, things go awry.)

COOKING: Made meatballs and sauce and ate meatball sandwiches yesterday.  Today will be spaghetti and meatballs, and then tomorrow the leftovers will go in the freezer and I need to get back on the weight loss stick.  Hard core.

WATCHING: See above...James Bond and Flosstube.
(Can anybody tell me how I can watch Flosstube on my TeeVee?)

FRETTING: Health, house, family, change, missing Stewey, fatigue, helplessness, housework, garden, purging stuff, fatigue, health, family, fatigue, house, fatigue, change, fatigue, helplessness, fatigue...

PLANNING: Only the stuff that I can control.

  1. Coni, if you have a laptop, get a HDMI/USB cable. Plug USB cable into laptop and HDMI end into TV. Will probably have to press INPUT button on Cable Remote and scroll down to which HDMI on TV you used. It should pop your computer screen on TV and you can watch it on the big screen. I hope I told you right. I did this on parents TV, connecting to Amazon to watch video. Hope works. Maybe able to use a tablet with a micro HDMI cable, if tablet has place to plug in. Keep your chin up, waiting for things to happen/get accomplished goes slowly. We need to here from you every day!

  2. Empathy is a gift and a curse . That said I feel your pain. For different reasons I have spent too much time feeling much the same. If I could I would beam myself to where you are and keep you company. My prayers are with you.

  3. One thing and one day at a time...wish I could follow my own suggestion, however...praying for strength couldn't hurt either...stitch at least a little today!

  5. Coni, you can buy a device that allows you to broadcast From your pc and or laptop directly to your tv. I bought Google's device, Chromecast. It was about $35.00 and was very easy to install. You plug it into your tv. No separate cable required. There are directions with it but you can also find instructions by googling. There are other brands such as Roku, but basically they all work in the same way. You can project movies from Netflix, Hulu, Yoitube, etc.

  6. If we could be beamed into your environ, we probably could ease the "fretting" portion of your day. That little indulgence of carbs probably was called for, so don't feel guilt fret over it... the "watching" calls for
some control so as to leave time for stitching, etc. The
star of your list is planning "only the stuff I can control"..a reduction in fretting... Sitting in the great
outdoors (in good weather) with needle in hand, watching Bosco frolic would help to level the whole field of concerns somewhat.. The weight you are carrying, dear Coni, will strengthen your resolve and resilience if look upon it as such. Don't give in... you are such an inspiration to all of us who love and care about you.
Enjoy this Sunday surrounded by peace wished for you.

  9. I made a big pot of beef stew since my daughter came for a visit this weekend. It was so good and now I some left to eat on this week. I could eat it every day; it is so good plus I am getting my veggies, etc.

  12. My daughter showed me how to get Youtube on the TV. When I have my laptop near our smart tv, the symbols on the bottom row of the video change. Look at the second symbol from the bottom right. That rectangle gets a row of curved lines. Click on that and it shows up on the TV. When I have my laptop near our other not-smart TV's that little symbol just stays a plain rectangle. You can alos fix your videos to auto play. All you need is a young person, they can do it all.

  13. Hey, watching James Bond is a good substitute for stitching...ANY of the Bond boys should be a good tonic for some of that fretting. Stitching will happen when it happens. I thought about JDM all weekend for some reason. What are your fave JDM moments/shows?

  16. Oh Coni, sending cyber hugs. I rarely comment but I've been following you from the first and it just pains me to read what you're going through. Stay strong and when you can't be strong reach out to your followers because we truly do care though we've never met in person. I know it's not Stewie but my little sweeet Peegle, Daisy, sends you a wet sloppy kiss from Wisconsin.

  17. Yep, when its out of your control no need worrying about it. Let it go. Dear one, sending hugs.

  18. I fret about almost the same things you do. My problem is I worry about things that may happen in 1 year to 10! I haven't learned to live for the moment. Just think about getting through one day at a time. As for getting YouTube on TV-I have a game system hooked to my tv, an Xbox. I don't think my tv is a smart one because cable is involved. I also have WiFi in my house so that cuts down on the cables/cords. I think almost any game console allows you to access the Internet from it. My Xbox is a dinosaur called Xbox 360. So if you checked out this particular console on eBay or Craigslist, you might be able to find it for cheap. Good luck. I haven't watched Flosstube yet on my 50 inch tv but I imagine it would be pretty cool! Take care, Coni.
