IN WHICH OUR HEROINE GOES TO LIBRARY GUILD, EATS A REUBEN, AND GOES TO HOUSE OF STITCHES

We had a stitch-in at the library today, and as a pleasant surprise, a trip over to LaPorte to House of Stitches and Christos for lunch.

I didn't really "need" anything, but when has "need" really had anything to do with it anyway?

Here's my little haul...all thanks to inspiration from Flosstubers like Miss Danielle, the Stitcherista:
The thread is a new color from Gentle Art called Lagoon, and it is the most lovely mixture of deep blues and greens and teals you can imagine.  I'm going to use it on the piece of 28ct Valor from Picture This Plus to stitch the Ink Circles piece.

Pretty, huh?

I couldn't resist the shepherd's Bush kit called Heart Of My Heart.  It reminded me of Stewey enough to put me right into an ugly cry in the q-snap aisle, but after a few minutes getting it together in the powder room, I was good to go.

La-D-Da's Fraktur Flowers and Blackbird Design's Spring Fever will both be stitched on Picture This Plus Wren, but alas, Miss Linda had to order it for me.

In the meantime, progress continues on Printemps.  I am working the wavy lines of her dress and hope to have that much, at least, completed soon.

More tomorrow, I promise.  I re-basketed my basket with fun stuff, so maybe to,orrow we'll have a little  What's In Your Basket episode.

Hope your Saturday is swell!

  1. Great stitch haul and can't wait until my trip to my LNS next weekend to get all the new market releases. I understand the ugly cry because I still do it every time I see a black kitty and think of Maggie Mae.

  2. Aren't Guild days the best? My Sampler Guild meeting was today and our speaker was a button collector. I was afraid to even look at the buttons she had for sale, but enjoyed other people's purchases!

  3. Glad to read that you are feeling better and got out of the house. Nice stash. That is a really nice floss color.

  4. The La D Da Fraktur Flowers is making me want to break my "no new stash this year" resolution! But I am allowing myself threads, and the GAST Lagoon has gone right to the top of the list - gorgeous color! (and perfect for the With My Needle mermaids....)

How lovely to be able to attend a stitch-in at your library. Enjoy your new goodies!

  5. Noticed you have one of La-D-Dah's new releases in your photo. I just picked this up today and can't wait to dive in. There's nothing like starting a new project, is there? :) Stay warm. Can't wait to see your updated basket!

  6. Oh, my, I am drooling with all of your wonderful stashquisitions!! Love it all. The new threads are beautiful and PTP Wren is one of my favorites; it goes with just about anything you would ever want to stitch. Can't wait to see your starts. Happy stitching.

  9. I am so sad that we no longer have any stitching shops in southern Maine. We had a wonderful one, Bayberry, that closed years ago. I spent so many happy hours shopping there. Now I have to order everything online. It looks like you made some charming selections and the Lagoon thread is stunning.
