IN THE GLOOMIES

It's a bit dreary here today.  Overcast and a little...blech.  I am moving kind of slowly through the morning and contemplating a run to the library for another stack of books.  After that, mayne a stop at the grocery for some small provisions...bagels, fruit, salad fixings...nothing too spectacular.

(I miss my former life...I would be looking forward to Fat Tuesday dinner at my favorite restaurant...LaSalle Grill.)

Oh well.

More progress on Flowers.  Henry made it through queen number five last night...now it's on to battles and the final go round.  I think this is the fourth or fifth time I've watched this series, but the beheading of Catherine Howard always gets me for some reason.

Even Stewey seems quiet and out of sorts today...

And that mantle is really looking bare without all of the Christmas stuff.

OK...enough moping about.  Time for a bra and some shoes and it's off to the library.  Here's hoping that your neck of the woods is considerably brighter!  Onward!

  1. Kinda gloomy here, too, but spring will be here before we know it. Please let us know which books you pick. :)

  2. Methinks a trip over to the Hobby Lobby might be in order for your mantle! There's tons of ideas on Pinterest to spark your creativity! I bet you can get it all gussied up for Spring in no time!

  4. I lived in South Bend many years ago and I remember the LaSalle Grille. Lovely progress on your current piece. I hope the sun shines for you soon.

  5. We are expecting heavy storms overnight in the South and are honkering down for what tomorrow may bring. In true Fat Tuesday fashion, before the stroke of Midnight I am trying to fit in all the sweet indulgences that will be a "no-no" during the great Lenten deprivation. Hope you locate some mesmerizing reading material. Your stitchery is looking more and more elegant.

  6. Read the reviews on "The Rosie Project" and "A Man Called Ove". Next time you go to the library, maybe you can check them out.

  7. Your piece looks great! I think lots of skipping around with colors makes for fun stitching. How about a live plant on your mantle or some fresh flowers? Even a tiny little new plant-y thing always cheers me...or a fresh pile of yet to be read books. Please tell us what you brought home to read.

  10. I'd forego the bra myself, and treat myself to browsing a book store or something equally dietetic. Gray, gloomy days always make my spirits plummet...

  11. I'm really liking your heart. Sorry the weather is bringing down your spirits. We are getting more rain in the next couple of days. Oh wow, I haven't watched Henry in a few years. May have to remedy that.
