THAT SOUND YOU HEARD...

Was me.

Hollering like a crazy lunatic in the Hobby Lobby yesterday.

Guess what I found?!

I was in the stamping aisle and turned around, and right there they were...my jars...my beloved, beloved perfect ort storage jars!

They had two packs of two, so I scooped them up and hugged them as though they were my long lost best friends or Stewey Angus Willowswamp His Very Little Self.

A tiny tear came out of my eye.

I swear it to be true.

After a few more errands, I came home, got my wits about me, and hit my freshly cleaned off cockpit:

And I stayed there, playing with my planner until the wee hours of the morning.

Here's a few shots of January:

And then, because I was having so much fun, I went ahead and jumped right into February:

And because you know me so well...here's a look at the inside cover:

I swear, playing with this stupid book brought me more peace and happiness than I have felt in quite a while.  I mean, come on.  What's not to love about scissors and glue and stickers and stamps...all while getting yourself organized for the week?

Speaking of which...Tuesday is the big day.  Surgery on my left arm to get it ready for dialysis.  I don't know why I'm so darn crazy nervous...back in 1991 they practically cut my head off at Mayo and I didn't give it a second thought!  This is supposed to be a relatively simple surgery, but I am fretting it like nobody's business!

Sheesh...why can't I just enjoy stitching and planning as my hobbies instead of going for 1st Place Champion Fretter all the time?

So that's the report for a snowy Sunday, my dears.  As soon as I finish the papers and another damn good cup of coffee, I'm going to see what I can do about getting myself presentable for the hospital.

Now, where did I put that weed whacker?

  1. You fret because you have more experiences to draw on now. But you really shouldn't, we are all thinking very good thoughts for you. Love your planner, I "planned" for years when I was a store manager, I just can't get into it these days. Hugs to you.

  4. Great job on the planner and great photo of Stewey! I am sure your surgery will go well. I had both of my knees replaced this year and was nervous, too. But these medical people are all such pros - there was nothing to it and I'm confident your surgery will be a breeze, too.

  12. I second LaRue's reply and am adding my prayers. Shaving all necessary areas is easily one of the most trying parts of getting ready for a medical procedure. If they are working on your arm, maybe mowing the legs isn't absolutely necessary--? Just saying. So happy you found the orts jars, if only to see "ort" again in your blog. Loved seeing that beautiful pic of Stewey, looking concerned that the dry cleaner might not get the cognac stain out of his favorite smoking jacket . . .

  18. Hi Coni! So happy you found the ort jars you love so much! Doesn't it just make you giddy when that happens?! Your planner is lovely. I used to love doing scrapbooks and such, but don't have much time for it now. Hope to get back into it one of these days.
My brother recently had the surgery you are having. He insists on being put under for any procedure he has...haha! Came through it fine, I'm sure you will, too! Stay strong and be well!

  22. I LOVE that picture of Stewey! I'm so glad you shared it with us because I'm missing that little guy. Nerves are to be expected, but all will be well, just focus on getting things prepared for coming home. We're all with you in spirit. If I lived closer I'd come bring you chicken when you get home.

  25. BTW, that planner is so cool. If I had one I might start writing appointments down so I would not have to call the places back for the time on the day I think I am supposed to be there!

  26. Of course you have a photo of his very little self inside the front cover! I would expect no less. Very speedy recovery - as in setting all records - wishes to you. And of course you fret... you're human! Good luck on Tuesday. Sending hugs.

  27. I want one! A planner that is, not a surgery. So nice to see Stewey's sweet face again. Will be thinking of you tomorrow.....although, honestly, I think of you every day, Coni. Your blog is the only one I have saved on my phone (for uber-fast access in case of a bad day emergency). I often check it multiple times a day in the hope you have posted more than once. Blessings to you and can't wait to read about your spinster spin regarding this new adventure. Xoxo.
