AGAIN WITH THE FREAKING NATURE

We awoke at the crack of dawn so I could get my wits about me before taking Bosco to the vet.  As I stumbled to the kitchen to turn the coffee pot on, I happened to look out the patio window...

I know, I know.  My craptastic photographic skills once again impeed my ability to impart the impressiveness of the vista.  But, if you look closely at the edge of the grass, you just might see the entire Eastern Hemisphere Delegation of FREAKIN TURKEYS!!! that decided to come participate in the Spinster Olympics.

You also cannot tell from this fantastic photo, but the lawn sprinklers are on and the turkeys are, I presume, showering in them after what must have been a tiresome morning of garden eating, yard pooping, and Jack Russell Terrier dodging.

(Stewey thinks it's more likely that we have become a resort destination and that this was a last hoorah vacation for a few turkey families before the children head back to school.)

Borders are complete on Olympic Good Stuff...now the fun can officially begin!

  1. I would prefer turkeys over geese and ducks any day. Your border blocks on Olympic Good Stuff turned out great. Looking forward to seeing the innards!

  3. I think Stewey has the right explanation...you must be on the radar for the entire turkey group. Can't wait to see the start of the stitching on this project....

  5. I love it - turkeys - come on - way to go! Used to see bunnies, they went away quickly, unfortunately. Had racoons for years and still have a possom or two now and then. Hawks I see about once a year or so. Have to watch out for my 9 year old baby Yorkies, when the Hawks are around. You just never know about those Hawks. I have two feral kitties. One was born here, 13 years ago, and the other showed up this year. We had wild pheasants in our yard when I was growing up. I love the wildlife.

  6. Well the big question is....did you leave on your jazzy polish when you went to the dentist?

  7. Good thing for the turkeys that you prefer ham for dinner! Can't wait to see the inside of your newest project! And is Bosco okay? Hoping this was just a routine vet visit for the baby.

  9. Thankfully I live in an area where there are no wild turkeys as I am a bit afraid of them. We used to raise turkeys when I was little and that stopped when I was about 5. I was standing at the door to the coop and a turkey flew at my face and I still have the scar on my nose to prove it. That was the end of the turkeys.

Hope Bosco had a good checkup!

  10. I love your little basket of threads. It is like thread porn to me. All the beautiful colors. I want to touch them. Your stitching is so pretty. I cross stitch but these projects you do are on my to do list someday.

  12. Christmas Dinner on the loose! We get pheasant in the garden sometimes but we've never tried to catch one. I think I'd rather watch them than pluck them!
Hope the vet liked the nail varnish.
