SHE ACTUALLY STITCHED!

Just a little progress, but I did manage to stitch a bit last night.  Thank goodness I did...it was getting bad enough I thought I was going to have to call in the authorities!

Today is paperwork day, followed by an afternoon in the studio.  There is a gorgeous breeze blowing, so I am going to open up the windiws and air the place out!

We're off like a herd of turtles!  Hope your weekend is starting out to be as swell as you want it to be!

  1. This piece reminds me of attending Indiana State Day, EGA, about 2005,2006 where we did a piece on canvas of 1 inch squares of different patterns. The South Bend Chapter provided the patterns and we had to choose our own colors. My colors were blue/greens similar to yours on the project above. I'm sure you were there. I sadly didn't know you then. Looking forward to your progress on this wonderful piece.

  2. I have a question about Twilight. I have the issue of Needlepoint Now that features it, but it doesn't say what count or size canvas to use. Was it stitched on 18 ct canvas? That's probably what I'll select, but I don't know what the dimensions are. I love the colors that you're using. It's looking really lovely.

  3. This is what I did based on 18 count canvas. Main design is 8 by 8 blocks (12 by 12 canvas threads per block). 8 x 12 = 96 threads. Border is 18 canvas threads - times 2 = 36 threads. 96 + 36 = 132 canvas threads. Adding 2 inches of selvage to each side (36 x 2 = 72). 132 + 72 = 204 canvas threads - divided by 18 threads per inch = 11.33". Rounding up to 12" square for canvas size, based on 18 count canvas. Does anyone have any corrections - I believe I got it right (smile).

  7. Coni, I love the expression you frequently use: "a herd of turtles". Today on FaceBook I came across a picture of exactly that. It was a giant tortoise with a gaggle of baby tortoises. The cutest thing! Wish I could attach the photo here. It made my day. Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!
