IT SEEMED LIKE A GOOD IDEA AT THE TIME

I'm getting jiggy with it in my old age.

Blue nails?  Sure...why not.

What started as an experiment to see if I could keep my hands out of my mouth has turned into a monthly quest for a "signature color".

The only problem is that I didn't  take into account that the hands on Pinterest were those of lovely well-groomed professinal hand models and not the meathooks of a portly spinster who should know better.

Don't worry...this will get vetoed as soon as You Know Who wakes up and it will be off to the Walgreens for some industrial strength clear Sally Hansen.

  1. I think they're lovely. You could color-key them to the projects you're working on. I'm thinking of something sparkly and nude/tan with the (can't think of the name) project with the crocheted embellishments.

  2. I think your manicure looks great. I too avoid nail colors like blue, but if my nails looked like yours, I would consider them.

  6. Beautiful shade! I'd wear that if I had decent nails. I certainly hope Stewey gives a paws up.

  7. I like the blue, too - it's fun now and then. But if you're looking for a go-with-everything, check out OPI Barefoot in Barcelona and Suzi Sells Sushi by the Seashore. I keep coming back to those over and over.

  12. I used to bite my nails badly for years, then decided to get them done professionally. Now I go about every 3 weeks. The only time I've gotten blue polish was for the 4th of July, and then I alternated the nails with a wine color and had the manicurist add some sparkly silver glitter. BTW I am going to be 65 in a couple of months. So needless to say my vote is keep the blue if it makes you feel good.

  20. Do YOU like them....then have fun, go for it.....I sometimes paint just my thumbs for fun! That would be thumb nails, not my thumb!

  21. I love how the patterns and colors of your snuggly blanket/throw match the rug on the floor!

    Blue is cool too!

  23. The blue nails are great! I'm 58, I bought some blue this past summer and have used a couple of times! If you love color you must wear it!

  24. Beautiful! I also say to leave your nails as they are; they look great and I love the shape!

  25. I don't normally wear polish on my finger nails, but I do enjoy some polish on my toe nails. I too decided to move outside my comfort zone with some matte blue polish this summer. I put in on Saturday evening before bed. When I got up Sunday it looked like I had some horrible toe nail disease. A quick coat of clear allowed me to wear sandals to church without feeling sick when I looked toe-ward.

  28. I think you should leave it, too. It is such a fun color especially for dreary winter days.

  30. Actually, you have very attractive, well shaped nails - so lucky you! You can wear any color you darn well please - it's one of the perks of being a grownup! Please yourself and be proud of it!

  31. Great color! Don't listen to Stewey. Although not colorblind, dogs don't see color the same way we do.

  32. I think they look great!! What a pretty shade of blue!! I don't think you should get any clear nail polish but I do think you should find some stitching that matches your nails. That would be fun!

  33. I agree as well, I think they look wonderful. Makes me ashamed of my misshapen unpolished ones. Maybe you can paint Stewey's so he is not jealous.

  34. Notre Dame blue....throw in a little gold and you have a winner!! Go girl you can do it.

  35. That is a beautiful blue Coni! I say keep it! I am 54 and have crappy short nails and chubby fingers. I also have around 400 bottles of nail polish and change it every 3 days. I wear blue, orange, glitter, anything I wanr because life is short, I like it, and if anyone has a problem with it they don't have to look! Tell the Stewster to lighten up. ;)
