A MONDAY MORNING VIEW FROM THE HAPPY CHAIR

Blurry, I know.  But that's the kind of day we're having around these here parts....blurry.

  2. What a beautiful view--both the stitching and the room to outside. It looks most fall-like. Here in Tucson, it's also fall but our temps are probably a wee bit warmer. Overnight lows in the mid 50s and afternoon highs in the mid 80s for the next week with a warmup scheduled after. The rest of the nation is pulling out sweaters and cooking stew but here we still have our air conditioners on in the afternoon, wearing flip flops and shorts. We are still consuming nicely chilled salads. I cannot seem to wrap my brain around winter coming.

  4. Hi!
So I originally asked you to email me and then it occurred to me that that is an odd creepy request Ü So I will just ask my questions here. I love your blog...and your little dog too!! I was wondering how you got the tree? Is it from someplace else or is it on the templates page? Your needlework looks to be pinned to a frame? Is that something you can buy or did you come up with that ( I have been stitching for 20 years but I have never seen that - of course I never looked at blogs so I didn't see other people's work in progress - ahh technology!!) Your house is beautiful as well!! Thans for your time - Jamie

    1. Hi, Miss Jamie? By tree, do you mean the one that's on the right-hand side of the blog background? If so, I can tell you that it's from The Cutest Blog On The Block. Yes, indeedie, it is a template that you can copy/paste to your very own blog.

I use q-snaps for projects that I stitch on linen and stretcher bars for those that I stitch on canvas. Both are usually widely available at your local needlework shop as well as your favorite online stitching supply place.

When Aunt Chrissy taught me to stitch, she really emphasized the importance of good/even tension, so I find that these frames really help me in that department.

And P.S., I don't think emailing stitcy friends is creepy at all!

      Woo Hoo!

    2. Howdy!
I wish I could come see your ways to stitch! There aren't very many of us stitcy folks anymore! I tried the scroll thingy but I am doing a Heaven and Earth design and it'd ginormous so it wouldn't fit! I have used the plastic hoops forever - I am not fond of the marks it makes! Thanks for the answers and again - I l-u-v your blog! Jamie

    1. Yes, he looks so sweet and innocent now, but once he blogs all of my dirty little secrets and then pees on the drapes, he's a bit less cutey-patutey. Trust me.
