WEATHER -1 SPINSTER -0

My mom can't come to the blog right now.  She's too busy stomping around the house muttering something about baby powder and kindergarten paste.  I suspect that her cranky attitude has to do with the nasty bit of weather we're having, but I might also guess that she's now suffering the unfortunate side effects of being a rotund-ly sweaty woman who decided to powder her undercarriage after this morning's bath.

What can I say?  Some people really shouldn't be left to their own devices, especially when they have the mental capacity of a dining room chair.

A fair bit of stitching went on last night despite the fact that Mo-ther tried to watch Aaron Sorkin's "The Newsroom" while doing so.  You would think that she would remember that one must really sit up in the buggy to fully appreciate Mr. Sorkin's dense dialogue, but we're talking about a woman who also decided that she is capable of reading Thomas Pynchon.

Trust me.  She isn't.

I do hope that you are all well and that you will be safe and careful during tomorrow's festivities if you are here in the good 'ol U.S. of A.  If you're elsewhere, I hope that your Wednesday is everything you would wish it to be!

Until we meet again, I remain your devoted pal,
Stewey

  1. Stewey, I wish you the very best holiday also and hope your Mo-ther finds a way to stay cool and safe in this weather. I think mother nature is suffering from PMS AND old-timers. ;) Cathryn

  2. Stewey, I hope you have a good 4th of July with lots of sparklers and festivities. In my mind's eye I see you trotting around the yard at dusk waving some sprinklers. Be safe and stay cool!

  3. Stewey, I am a rotund-ly woman who lives in Tucson, Arizona, so I am sweaty almost all the time. I, too, powder my undercarriage, my upper carriage and any parts of my carriage that might rub. Please tell you Mo-ther to try Clean Body Veil. It can be found on Amazon. I used to use baby powder then moved to Shower-to-Shower and then I found Clean. I have no interest in this product other than I now wouldn't use anything else. Please tell your mom as a happy (and dry) Mo-ther is a Mo-ther who spoils her little companion to the nth degree.

  4. stay cool! Enjoy your 4th!! Love the items in your basket o fun...I can't wait until the Olympics. I was off last year during the summer and autumn after surgery - now I am back at work - drat I could have watched the olympics all day and night instead of stumbling through life, tired as all-getout...

  8. Thanks for the update Stewey!

Tell your Moth-er that athlete's foot products (I use a spray powder) have some stronger medical powers, and can help clear up any red patches.

  9. The Newsroom is my new most favorite show to watch, but Stewey is right, I wouldn't try stitching simultaneously. Good luck with all that stitchy goodness. Have fun and stay cool! Deb

  11. Oh Stewey, you have so much to suffer through! Tell Mo0ther to upgrade to big girls powder like Gold Bond or Amens. Newsroom is my new favorite and you definitely can't stitch and make sense of it! Stay inside where it is cool! The fall will be here soon enough - but here in TX the heat lasts till December!

  12. Love your beautiful red daisy flower - the black is really making it POP...

Hope you are staying cool. What's a girl to do? I have baby powder issues too, but gosh, without it I would be a bigger mess LOL!
